Mischo's Digital Libraries article-- I'm not sure I understand the federated search diagram, but I love federated searches. The library I work at just is working on adding one through Ebsco (I think it is called discover).
The background information is interesting. I like to see how involved the government has been in the digital library project. I hadn't realized that Google came out of this initiative.
Dewey Meets Turing--I didn't realize how much of a wrench the WWW had thrown in the DLI. I would have thought it to be much more beneficial, but it does make sense that it blurred the lines between "consumers and producers of information." It is interesting to see the struggle between computer scientists and librarians.
Institutional Repositories--I like that in his definition he says the goal is to make the scholarship available and to preserve it. I think that is fundamental. His point about the need to change the way tenure track occurs is good. New digital scholarly communication does have an affect on this. Interesting article that relates well to things earlier in the semester in the 2000 class.
